January

During the month of January in 2019, after a year of tremendous loss, I awoke each morning and constructed a self-portrait on the small white wall between my bed and an adjacent window. I chose an object that had deep significance to reveal my inner relationship and didn’t allow myself to leave the room until a photo had been completed. Within this limited physical space and the expanded consciousness present upon waking, I explored the duality synonymous with the beginning of the new year, a time of reflection and letting go of the past, while planting seeds for the new.

Day after day, I confronted myself in the lens and a visual journal unfolded, a personal story of darkness and light, hope after loss, letting go while holding on, the power of the feminine, and the emergence of a brave new self.
